Your baby is not underweight.

At 8 months of age baby should weight double of her birth weight.

At this age baby is developing and learning new things baby will starts crawling and will try to stand up independently.

Kids will be physically more active so growth in weight will become steady.

After 6 months you can give all the healthy food to your baby.

You do not need to plan steps in which you should introduce solid food to your child. All you need to take care is you fulfill all the nutritional needs of your kid.

You should not even stop breast feeding right at 6 months you can feed your child till 3 years of age if you and your child both are ready for it.(You should stop feeding if baby is ready to stop)

Kids who takes mothers feed will be more healthy and chances of obesity in kids will reduce, babies bones will be even more stronger.

Apart from it you can give all fruits and vegetables in small quantity to your child.

You can find more information on weekly growth of 8 months old baby.
