at 1 year age child speak only 2-3 monosylebus words like papa-dada-mama.yr child is normal in development. don't bother only u spend more time with child, talk to yr child, even though child is not speaking but grasp everything. 50% of brain growth occur in first 2 years.

My baby will complete one year on April 20 2012. He makes sounds but speaks certain limited words. He stands with support holding onto something. He recognizes me as the closest and cries when i leave for office but he doesnot call me mama and hardly speaks this word. He just speaks 'light' and nothing else although he recognizes fan light stars moon pigeon etc.
1. Is development quiet slow?
2. is he catching up very late?
3. what activities should i share with him to help him develop on good pace
4. What needful be done to sharpen his brain

my queries might sound weird bu am really worried.
Thanks for advising me.

Take care
