Controversial daily soap 'Pehredaar Piya Ki'has been asked to be broadcasted at 10 pm instead of 8:30 pm by the Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC). It shows a nine-year-old boy, Ratan (Afaan Khan) married to 18 -year-old Diya (Tejasswi Prakash) and romancing with each other.
In the history of India, we have seen many evil social practices. Child marriage is one of those evil practices.
Due to ineffectiveness of Child Marriage Restraint Act, 1929, it was replaced by Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006. According to this act the age of male is supposed to be 21 and for female it is 18 years.
Today TV serials, movies etc. make deeper impact on the minds of children. So we need to be very careful about what our children watching.

According to JNU professor Ira Bhaskar, a current member of the BCCC, “apart from complaints received from viewer, there was "strong objection" to the show by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights and National Commission For Women.”
To ban 'Pehredaar Piya Ki', more than one lakh people had signed a petition on change.org urging Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani.
As the content seems to be promoting child marriage, people are asking to ban it. But only the time of broadcast is changed by Sony Channel. According to the show's producer Sumeet Mittal, "We have not received anything yet. As and when we receive it (instructions from the ministry), we will reply to it. We will explain our point of view."
So now it adds up a responsibility for the parenting to make sure that the children may not watch it and if they watch it then they would definitely require parental guidance.
