You have decided that this is the right time for your child to attend the preschool. You have selected the best school for your child. Now what would be your next step? Would like to wait for the school time? The answer is no. you should prepare your child for some basic lesson that he should learn from his parents. Most of the parents are confused what they should teach to their small kids. Here are some important considerations that your child needs to know before starting school.

Practical Skills
If you think this is the right age of your child for attending preschool then ask yourself a simple question. Is your child is properly potty trained?Before attending preschool your child must be confident in bathroom skills. Is your child knows how to go to toilet itself? Is he knows how to wash and dry his hands? Is he able to pull up and wear his pant? If answer for all above question is yes then this is the right for attending the preschool by your child.

In case of any problem, teach him all necessary personal hygiene skills. Ask him to complete his daily bathroom himself. You can just hold his hand for encouraging him. The children between the ages of 3 to 5 don’t have complete control over their bladder. In some cases, situation may become worse. So teachers commonly ask the students either they want to go to the toilet or not. Your child should be able to recognize that he wants to go toilet now. This is the most common problem in the young children. They are not able to identify the right time for the toilet. Also teach your child how to interact with the teacher. You should tell him that teacher is there for managing everything for him after you.

How to stay without Parents
If parents are working then this situation is easy to handle. Children are habitual for staying with other people. If mother is housewife then child stays with him for the whole day. It is very difficult for the child to stay without you. In this situation, parents should teach their children how to get without them. You can start with the easy step. Ask him to stay with his grandparents or aunt for one hour only. After sometime you can extend the time limit.

Teach your child basic eating skills. He should know how to use a spoon and fork. Also make him aware about the basic table manners. Some children are suffering from food allergies. Teachers should know what food cannot be eaten by the child. Only parents can ask the teachers for avoiding the allergic food. When you pack snacks and other food items for your child, he should be able to unpack the lunch box properly. You should practice some table manners with your child daily.

You should tell him that he can make a number of friends in the preschool. He may not understand the real meaning but he must be aware about this fact.

It would be better if you can teach their child some reading and writing skills. He should be able to recognize or write his name. But you don’t have to worry about this consideration. Teachers are the best source to teach the children about basic reading and writing skills. Children learn quickly in school instead of home.

For some schools, this is the basic criteria for admission. In that case, it becomes necessary to teach your child some basic reading and writing skills. Your child is also expected to recognize some numbers. He should be able to speak numbers before others. Sometimes, it becomes a silly question but this is the requirement of the challenging world.

How to ride the bus
Till now, your child is not familiar with bus riding. This is quite a unique experience for your child. Bus is a big and noisy vehicle. It may have positive or negative effects on your child. Some children enjoy bus riding while other may feel bad. In that case, parents should make their children familiar with the bus riding. You can take help from the public transport. This is not the exact experience but quite helpful step for your child. Some schools also offer sample ride. You have to discuss about the school management about the issue.
