The light and colors obtained are from LEDs. Many of the various hues have an almost laser-light glow that can't be achieved by any standard or fluorescent light bulbs. The light emitted is from a number of colored LEDs under the stem the balls sit in. Glo balls and L.E.D. pedestals are cool to the touch and child safe. The colors provided are very vibrant which  kids will love.
 

These balls glow decently, however the LEDs don't output that much light so the balls will never be fully charged. They're easily visible in the dark, though, and even visible in a poorly-lit room. Kids will love the color change function and the glowing balls that give off just enough light to keep the kiddo's room and not too much to keep them awake at night. This is visually appealing, and the removable light up balls are great for taking late night walks to the bathroom or a drink of water, etc.
 

The light allows you to set it on random mode, which changes colors, just white, or selecting any of the available colors which is slick. Just be aware that these glow balls aren't so bright when charged, they're similar to any glow in the dark plastic toy. 
 

Though having good positive features, this product certainly lacks good quality, With such an expensive item, we expect the material used to be of higher standard, but it is certainly not with this product. Even at times arrives with defects which is hard to retain. The ball quality is not so great they are just the standard glow in the dark plastic. The balls don't radiate much light when removed from the base, they glow nicely, but not enough to have a good vision at night.

The idea of making this product is very innovative and pretty cool, it looks dazzling in pictures if someone really does not physically operate it or look at it. But the product has so much downfall that too after spending so much money, one should expect at least something better than this. Even at first instance, it works fine until and unless someone uses it for an extended period of time they really do not get satisfaction. Quality is not worth the price you are paying.
