Samdhya is quite idealistic, abstract and heady, whereas the Samdhya's mother relies basically on the instinct, intuitions and inner gut feelings. Samdhya is often baffled by Samdhya's mother's passions, insane loves and hates, and intensely emotional responses. This is because Samdhya rational and cerebral. The two never succeed in building a long-term relation because of their differences in thinking and behavior. Samdhya's mother longs for emotional support and attention while Samdhya fails to provide the same as freedom is more important to an Samdhya. They need friends but they aren't emotionally dependent on them the way Samdhya's mother is. Samdhya is more of unemotional, aloof and cooler in attitude than Samdhya's mother. This creates emotional gap in their relation which can be very hard to fill.
