A string of tissue underneath the tongue attaches the tongue to the floor of the mouth. This piece of tissue, also called the frenulum, ends up being too short in the case of tongue-tie. This is medically known as ankyloglossia, otherwise known to common people like me and you as tongue-tie. Restrictions on the tongue due to this condition could end up causing problems in cases such as these. Babies sometimes are unaffected in mild cases of tongue-tie. However in severe cases the tongue ends up almost being fused to the bottom of the mouth.

Tongue tie is not serious issues these days with the help of science and developed medical facilities.

If you found your baby has tongue tie then visit doctor, it is very normal surgery and does not take much time in babies.

Avoid delaying it as your baby is learning to speak and once if habituated to speak different accents, it will become difficult for baby to use proper accents.

It is better to treat tongue tie on early basis as children grow surgery becomes complex.

Child will be given only local anesthesia to keep it painless for baby.

So visit your doctor for proper treatment.

You can take the advise from pediatrician of your baby to find good surgeon in your local area.
