This problem is called "Placental Abruption"

A mild placental abruption generally is not dangerous.

placenta is attached to uterus wall.
placenta allows baby to take nutrients from mother.
Placenta helps baby to breath.
Placenta provides oxygen to baby in the womb.

If the separation is major then the situation can be very dangerous for both mother and baby.

If you have a mild placental abruption for full term, your doctor may suggest cesarean birth.

This problem can cause in case of:

Blood pressure
Infection in uterus
Abruption in a past conception
Problems in umbilical cord
Abnormal amniotic fluid
Stomach injury during pregnancy
If conceived twins or multiples

You should talk to your doctor, if you are having very minor problem, then you can live your normal life, and if you have any complications in history then avoid sex.
