You need to train your baby for stopping thumb sucking.

It can cause many health problems like:

Digestion problems

You need to guide your child for this.

Try to control number that your kid sucks thumb in the house, never do it in public.

Appreciate your child when she is not sucking her thumb do not criticize when she does.

Give her more solid food that will keep her feeling full.

Try to be more friendly and explain her the problems and side effects of thumb sucking habit.

Do not wish your child to stop it at once give some time and control it step by step.

You can find more information on Thumb-sucking in kids from:

My daughter is 3yrs old and is still sucking her thumb. Her thumb is swollen due to the front teeth and i could see that her gums are protruding. She just wont listen.

Sometimes i feel, when she will attain an age when she will realize that its not good and observes that other kids dont do, she will eventually stop this habit. I think by 5 most kids can understand this.
